Lesson 91 talk like Ninja
おいしいでござる。
oishii de gozaru.
It's delicious.
"Gozaru" is a typical sentence end of Ninja word.
Just put "de gozaru" instead of "desu."For verb, dictionary form +de gozaru.
Ex;
【N】たなかです。→たなかでござる。
【いA】さむいです。→さむいでござる。
【なA】ひまです。→ひまでござる。
【V】いきます。→いくでござる。

Hi, I don't quite understand why speaking like this will be like a ninja, is there a culture story or what?
what is the meaning of "de gozaru"?
My take is that this is old style Japanese language. That is the style of language spoken in the pre-industrialization times. If you read the Kenshin manga, which is set in the Meji-restoration times, they use "gozaru" quite a bit. So, since ninjas were used as spy's during this time you can talk like a ninja by speaking like someone from those times. Just an thought.
Harukosensei what does "Gaiden" mean?
And can anyone use de gozaru or is it just for ninjas? Is it used by both genders? Arigato
Hi Lostin-san,
I think you have already got it.
We use "de gozaru" to very close people when we want to make the conversation more fun. Probably we are used to "ninja talk" because of some Ninja anime of our childhood.
Anonymous-san,
Thank you very much for your comments! you helped me a lot! lol
"Gaiden", if it comes form Manga, Anime or Game, I think it is "外伝", means "Another story of the Story"like spin out.
Konnichiwa Hakuru Sensei,
I'm currently in Tokyo, Japan for the first time. Tokyo is an amazing city. My experience would have much better if I know Japanese. I couldn't order food or ask for directions. I will go through your lessons when I return home.
By the way, you misspelled two words (executives and interested)in your profile.
Btw, I'm Jay from San Francisco.
Konnichiwa, Jay form SF-san.
